Research

The focus of my research is on Cenozoic marine stratigraphy and the environmental history of the oceans. I therefore have participated in eight DSDP/ODP/IODP drilling Legs to the Atlantic (81, 108, 154), Arctic (302), Indian (115) and Pacific (130, 199, 321) oceans. I sailed in the capacity as either nannofossil biostratigrapher or co-chief scientist. When Sweden in 1988 built a new arctic-class icebreaker, the Oden, I got involved in geoscientific icebreaker expeditions to the central Arctic Ocean (1991, 1996, 2003, 2004, 2014).
